Enlightenments from 2019

13 things that 2019 taught me:

1. Saying no is perfectly normal. It’s acceptable for you to walk out of situations and people if the relationship hurts you enough that you begin to lose yourself. Like the flight attendant says, make sure to put your own oxygen mask before you help others.

2. The people who are hardest to love may need it the most.

3. Most things others say aren’t really about you. It’s a reflection of themselves.

4. Lying to yourself gets you no where.

5. You can’t let anyone define what happiness means to you; it’s yours! If you want to eat pineapples on pizza, then freaking do it.

6. Love yourself. If you seek love from others, it means that it lacked in you. Give yourself the love and attention you deserve first.

7. Coffee is a very important meal in the day.

8. There are always two sides to a story, be courageous enough to hear both.

9. People grow, change, move on at different phases of life. While everyone says it’s okay to walk out on people you once truly loved and it’s a part of life, growing together is more beautiful. Cherish the People who decided to stay despite your weaknesses and quirks.

10. Self Growth may be glorified but it’s one of the slowest and most painful processes.

11. I always believed that being sensitive was a sign of weakness. But it shows that you pay attention to details and that you care a lot. It is okay to be sensitive and don’t let anyone make you feel otherwise.

12. As your grow older, so do your parents. Give them all the love they deserve.

13. Never make important decisions or go grocery shopping on a hungry stomach. You’ll spend.. a Lot. Happy new year everyone!
