To the Queen

Maa,

I could never write anything for you, because the 26 letters of the alphabet are not enough to explain what you mean to me. But here, I make a feeble attempt.

You’ve taught me what true love is, by always being there by my side. No matter what tornadoes and hurricanes raged in your life, you were always a wonderful mom, like a gigantic strong tree protecting us.

No one in the whole world can cook like you do, for you have spoiled me with all the flavours you magically bring into your food, and no one in the world can endlessly stroll around the market streets, tired and irritated, yet energetic and determined while looking for the perfect colour combination that will make you look fabulous on an occasion.

You are the most graceful person to walk this earth, because you know how to love yourself like a rainbow with gold on both ends.

I have seen you at your moments of pure bliss, joyful and dancing to music. I have also seen you at your worst, trying to find one ray of light, when all around you was darkness.

But above all that, I have seen you rise to the occasion like a queen and wear your crown studded with diamonds made out of strength, kindness, fierceness, balance, and love.

While children often idolize their parents as perfect beings, capable of making no mistakes, you are the person who has come close to that comparison.

Thank you believing in yourself; it makes me believe in myself, too.

Love,

Your little yet not so little girl.
