Magic
Sitting in the front row, watching the team leader present their promising ideas of solving the world’s problems, I peaked at my friend, taking notes, listening intently, with a sparkle in his eyes, feeling magical about the opportunities.
This small peak transported me to the time when I had believed in magical things, when I would look at the world with wide, open, and twinkling eyes.
I wondered, where had all the magic faded away? Was I just a heap of flesh, not believing in the magic and surprises anymore? Because of a few setbacks and challenges, had i succumbed to the rut of life and become less hopeful? Noticing my dad’s snow coloured hair and tired eyes, had reality hit and shattered the magic of it all?
Tapping into my heart, and spreading some magical dust, I realized. Magic still existed
Magic is in my dads’ hopeful voice and his glowing spirit
Magic is in the warmth of my mother’s smile and the wholesome food she prepares.
Magic is a friend, who helped you get through a gloomy and rainy day.
Magic is in a gorgeous sunset, when all of nature’s colours harmoniously worked together to create a masterpiece.
Magic is in a loved one, who took an hour out of their time, just to make sure you were okay.
Magic is a quiet evening with some tea, a candle and solitude.
Magic is being happy and hopeful when you worked 12 hours that day, and your head and feet ache, but you felt worthy.
Magic is in a box of crayons, whose smell transports you back to childhood.
Magic is in yourself, when you picked up broken pieces of yourself just to start all over again.
Magic are the extraordinary gestures in an ordinary world.
Perhaps, as we grow, hit bumps, and face challenges, the magic appears to fade..
But maybe, magic just needs a new perspective from a new lens, and a new frame.
And you’ll no longer believe you’re just a Muggle. 🙂

Gauri, I liked your content; it is uplifting and it brings a smile to my face as I see you scale to new heights in your personal and professional life. You hold your head high; the separation that you have experienced in the last two years have given you many moments of introspection and life has appeared finally with a no filter bare and tasteful.
